KENAFF Farmers' Field Day Held on 20th April 2023 in Solai, Nakuru County
Solai, Nakuru County – On Thursday, April 20, 2023, the Kenya National Farmers’ Federation (KENAFF) organized a successful Farmers’ Field Day at the Maji Tamu Ward Administration Grounds in Solai, Nakuru County. The event, themed “Smart Farming for Increased Production,” was a hive of activity that drew farmers throughout Nakuru county, all eager to explore and implement the latest techniques in modern agriculture.
KENAFF hosted the Farmers’ Field Day in collaboration with the Nakuru County Government as part of the federation’s continued efforts to promote agriculture as a viable economic activity in the region. The event featured new technologies, best practices, and novel farming approaches aimed at assisting farmers in increasing production and improving their livelihoods.
The event began early in the morning, with a swarm of farmers pouring in to take part in the many exhibitions, presentations, and demonstrations on offer. Farmers were spoiled for choice with over ten exhibitors ranging from seed businesses, agro-input dealers, machinery makers, and other key stakeholders.
A variety of practical demonstrations on various farming strategies, such as crop rotation, soil conservation, and integrated pest management, were among the event’s highlights. Farmers were able to meet with experts and gain practical suggestions and guidance on how to adopt these techniques on their farms during the demos.
Overall, the Farmers’ Field Day was eye-opening and educational for Nakuru farmers. The event was a true testament to the potential of agriculture as a key driver of economic growth and development in Kenya.
